About the event

Join us in the Copper Room for a night of brilliant live stand-up comedy featuring headliner Tony Burgess - an award winning stand-up comedian, writer and actor based in Manchester: With his instantly engaging stage persona, Tony Burgess weaves fantastic gags into sometimes surreal stories about northern family life, which for over 25 years has proved a hit with the crowds on the UK comedy circuit. Tony was the winner of the prestigious City Life Comedian of the Year (other winners include John Bishop and Peter Kay) came runner up in So You Think You’re Funny and was nominated for best stand up and writer at the North West comedy awards. He has also written and starred in  TV shows, as well as writing for many household names of UK comedy. Not to mention that he has also supported household names like Johnny Vegas on National Theatre tours.

Tony Burgess will top off the night following performances from:

Percy Savage - a Cumbrian funnyman with a bunch of inventive and effortlessly rib-tickling perspectives. He reached the semi-finals of So You Think You’re Funny in 2021 doing his first ever gig. He was shortlisted for the BBC New Comedy Award 2023 and is now gigging regularly for Manfords, Comedy in a Van, LOL Comedy Clubs, Nodding Dog, Hull Comedy Lounge, Hilarity Bites, Who Dares Grins, and others.

Daniel Powell - Semi Finalist - So You Think You’re Funny. Voted one of the 11 best jokes of the Edinburgh Fringe by The Telegraph.

Hollie Noble - a 20-something observational comedian and member of the LGBTQ+ community, laden with various mental health diagnosis.

Our resident host for the evening is Eddy Midgley, a formidable, cheerful and happy chappy.
